An exhibition of 3D artwork banners

3D exhibition in the Nave

The first part of Cathedra 900 was the 3D banner exhibition that was on display in Exeter Cathedral from 23rd July until 30th September 2012.   Mark created twenty eight large scale 3D artwork banners that hung from the fourteen columns in the cathedral nave.  Over 20,000 visitors saw the exhibition and experienced the 3D effect by wearing blue/red 3D glasses.  The design of the banners reflected one of Exeter Cathedral’s most striking features: Its symmetry.  On close inspection visitors saw that twenty four of the banners contained imagery taken from various parts of the cathedral.  The remaining four banners showed Roman artefacts, a reference to the Roman site that existed here in earlier times.
