Ian Edwards Biography


Born in March 1950, Ian Edwards has been involved in film and video production for over 35 years. He is presently Managing Director (owner) of Red Squirrel Production, working for a wide variety of clients.
Red Squirrel Production offers full production services, including in-house shooting and a Grass Valley EDIUS HD editing system.
Ian has a ‘hands on approach’ and takes an active role in the full production process, from script to screen.


1989 – Film and Video Production.

Since 1989, Ian has run his own independent film and video business, offering both facilities and full production services.

1981 Network 7, Australia. Video Engineer and ENG for Network 7’s breakfast show.
Interviews included, Spike Milligan, Enoch Powell, Barbara Cartland, Sir Bernard Miles, Miss Piggy and Jim Henson. Also edited news stories for evening broadcast.

1973 – 1981 Free-Lance Electronics and Video Engineer, Cameraman and Editor.

1972 Trained as a Video Engineer at Granada Television.

1968 -1972 Employed by Marconi as an electronics engineer.
During this period he studied successfully for an ONC and an HNC in electrical and electronic engineering.
