Cyprus Well, the charity set up to enable and nurture literature development activity in South West, will connect with the Cathedra 900 project. Cyprus Well will engage with young people across the Country who will each write a short story on the theme of ‘Nine Hundred Years’. All short stories will be published on the Cathedra 900 website during 2013, and six of the young people will be chosen to read their work in the Cathedral as part of a multimedia live event that will be staged during October 2013.
Creative workshops for young people
During March 2013, there will be five, one day creative workshops for young people from the local area, staged in the Cathedral’s Chapter House. The five workshops will be for Creative Writing, Digital Photography, Digital Video, Performance and Voice Coaching. The theme for all workshops will be ‘900 years’.
Creative workshops for people with disabilities
CEDA, the Exeter based charitable organisation that creates opportunities for disabled people within Exeter and the surrounding areas, will also connect with the Cathedra 900 project. Supported by Mark Ware, CEDA will provide creative workshops for the people it serves and supports. The workshops have yet to be designed, but they will also adopt the theme of ‘900 years’. Dates for these workshops to be announced.
